Policies
Below, you will find some general policies of the Curry House. Our goal
is to provide a uniquely enjoyable vacation experience to everyone that stays
with us. We have developed these policies to help us be consistent in the way
we treat every person, to be good neighbors, and to remain in business.
Thank you for understanding!
Stay happy, my friend, hang easy and loose
Gettin' rattlesnake-riled is just no use
So here is a slogan that's sure hard to match
There ain't no use itchin' unless you can scratch!

Deposit Policy
A deposit is required to make your reservation. For reservations of one (1) or
two (2) nights the deposit must be equal to the first night. For reservations
of three (3) or more nights, the deposit shall be equal to one-third (1/3) of
the total. For reservations over New Year's and Fantasy Fest, the deposit shall
be 50% of the total. If you make your reservation within the minimum
notification period (see below), you will not be eligible for a refund of your
deposit.
Deposits shall be made with a credit card. We accept...
In order to be eligible for a refund of your deposit, you must provide a
notice of cancellation at least two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of your
reservation. For holidays, special events, and group reservations, you must
provide notice of cancellation at least one (1) month prior to the
beginning of your reservation. For New Year's and Fantasy Fest, you must
provide notice of cancellation at least three (3) months prior to the beginning
of your reservation.
|
EXAMPLE: If your reservation begins on
Thursday, August 25th (non-holiday), you would be required to provide
notice of cancellation prior to the end of the day, Wednesday, August 10th...
This is a 2-week (14-day) minimum notice.
|
|
EXAMPLE: If your reservation is over
President's Day Weekend, arriving February 16th (2007), you would be
required to provide notice of cancellation prior to the end of the day,
January 15th... This is a 1-month minimum notice (NOTE: The specific
number of days will vary depending on the month. This policy was chosen to
make it easy to determine without having to look at a calander).
|
A $25 cancellation fee will be deducted from all refunded deposits.
The cancellation fee for New Years and Fantasy Fest reservations shall be
10% of the deposit amount.
There will be no refunds for shortened stays.
All deposits and fees are on a "per room" basis.
|
EXAMPLE: If you reserve 3 rooms, and then
cancel one of them with less than the minimum notice, the deposit for the
cancelled room will be forfeited. In this same example, if you cancel one
of the rooms with sufficient notice, there will be a $25 cancellation
fee for that one room. The remainder of the deposit may be refunded or
applied to the remaining balance.
|
|
EXAMPLE: If you reserve 3 rooms, and then
cancel your entire reservation with sufficient notice, your deposit will
be refunded, less a $75 cancellation fee (3 x $25).

Because we adhere to a strict refund policy, travelers' insurance is
strongly recommended during hurricane season (June 1 thru November 30), as
well as for group or special event reservations which may require
relatively larger deposits.
Protect yourself from those unfortunate
events that can ruin a vacation...
TravelGuard Website
The Curry House cannot be held responsible for cancellations due to natural
events such as hurricanes. Again, for this reason, we strongly
recommend travelers' insurance to provide you with peace of mind during your
travels!

Check-In
The standard check-in period is between 2:00pm and 5:00pm.
However, we understand that many of our guests are traveling long distances by
land, sea, or air, and they may not be able to arrive during this time. If
you determine that you cannot arrive during the standard check-in period, please
contact us so that we can make arrangements for earlier or later check-in times.
The Balance Due will be required at time of Check-In. Fantasy Fest reservations require the balance due be paid one (1) month prior to the arrival date of the reservation.

Check-Out
Check-Out is 11:00am.
Special arrangements can be made, to
accommodate late flight/ferry times, etc. Luggage may be stored in the parlor
after Check-Out time should you want to spend a bit extra time exploring Key
West.

Hurricanes
The Curry House will heed all mandates set forth by Monroe County
Authorities. When the evacuation of visitors and tourists is mandated, the
Curry House will cease guest house operations. Our deposit policies
will be adhered to, even in the event of a hurricane evacuation.
For this reason, we strongly recommend travelers' insurance for
anyone travelling in southern Florida between June 1st and November 30th.
TravelGuard Website
Hurricane season begins June 1st and
ends November 30th, with the statistical peak in the beginning of September.
If you make a reservation to stay with us, or elsewhere, during hurricane
season, we strongly suggest travelers' insurance to protect yourself
against financial loss in the event of cancelled flight or a mandatory
visitor evacuation. Click on the banner above to learn about one company's
travelers' insurance programs.

Travelers' Insurance
In order to run an effective business, and continue to provide the best possible
services to our guests, we must strictly adhere to our deposit refund policies.
It is important that those making reservations with us understand that the
deposit is like a "payment" for taking a room "off the market". Because this
room is "off the market", we will turn other potential guests away.
This "payment" will be refunded when sufficient notice is given, per
our Deposit Policies listed above. The "notice requirements" are put in place
to provide us with a good chance of re-renting the room(s), and thus
salvaging the income.
However, we also do not want our guests to suffer a financial loss due to an
event that leads to a cancellation. For this reason, and for your convenience,
we are including this link to one company that provides travelers' insurance.
It is easy to purchase and reasonably priced...

Children
It is very important to us to be able to provide a peaceful and relaxing
environment for all of our guests, for this reason, we only allow children that
are at least 13 years old.

Smoking
Smoking is permitted on the porches, verandas, and around the pool.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Curry House (e.g. guest
rooms, parlor, kitchen, hallways, etc.) In addition, smoking is not
permitted at the breakfast tables during breakfast (8:00-10:00am).

Pets
No pets are allowed in the Curry House.
|
NOTE:
Key West has many stray cats. As the weather allows, many homes and businesses
leave their windows and doors open. There are a few stray cats that visit us
here at the Curry House, however, we make every effort to keep them off
of the second and third floors and out of the guest rooms.
Many of our guests and several staff members are severely allergic to cats,
yet no one has felt ill effects. Ironically, the open doors which
allow the cats to come in, must also keep the house fresh and clean of
cat dander... or perhaps our housekeeping crew is just that good!
|

Groups
Group Reservations are defined as reservations that include more than
four rooms...
Cancellation of group reservations must be made at least one (1)
month prior to the beginning of the reservation (similar to the policy for
holidays and special events).
When the entire reservation (all rooms) are under a single name, room
assignments, and persons responsible for payment, shall be coordinated with
Curry House staff prior to the arrival date.

Henna Tattoos
Henna tattoos may be temporary on skin, however they leave very permanent
stains on bed linens. Because of this, we have developed this policy
regarding henna tattoos.
If you arrive at the Curry House with a henna tattoo, or are planning
on getting one during your stay with us, you must either cover your tattoo(s)
(such as with gauze bandages) to prevent damage to the linens, or
understand that we will charge a nominal replacement fee of $25 per
damaged sheet (flat or fitted) or $10 per damaged pillow case.
Also, it may be good to be aware that if henna ruins sheets this way, it
may also ruin nice clothes that come into direct contact with it.
