Room (9) Nine

Recently renovated... and much improved!
It is a pleasure to present the recently renovated
Room Nine! It used to be a good room, now it's a great room!
Comfortable and very peaceful, this room was originally opened up to make use
of a portion of the attic space - Note that the ceiling is sloped in two
directions and some taller guests might be advised to walk down the center of
the room which peaks at about seven feet.

The bathroom and the view
The private bathroom is cute and reminiscent of the head on a boat. It is very
"efficiently" laid out. The tiled shower boasts a unique skylight which
may be propped open providing more headroom as well as a incredibly delightful
view of Key West. Another small skylight in the bedroom helps open up the space,
making the room bright and cheerful.
Room Nine is excellent for people on a budget who wish to have a private bathroom.
It provides most of the same amenities found in the other rooms. It's a great
place to "hang your hat" on your trip to Key West.

Flooding? On the third floor? Who'd have thunk it! Nonetheless, it did happen
toward the end of 2005 when a water pipe in the bathroom sprung a leak and
drenched the guest rooms at the front of the house on all three floors!
Refusing to let a bit water get us down, we took advantage of the situation
and made a few improvements in the rooms.
In this room: The Banana-Yellow wall color... Gone! The icky wall-to-wall carpeting that
clashes with the bedspread... Gone! The floor, with original Dade County
Pine has been re-finished and makes us wonder why anyone would have covered it
in the first place.

Room Nine BEFORE the water pipe burst!
